Since Takenaka Tobei-Masataka(竹中藤兵衛正高), a retainer of Oda Nobunaga, founded「Takenaga Corporation」in Nagoya, this company has been engaged in the construction of shrines and temples. However, in the Meiji Restoration era, they decided to moved to Kobe, where was open port at the time. They actively incorporated European building technology into their company. From this time,「Takenaka Corporation」has constructed many famous Japanese buildings.

Most of all, they built "Tokyo Tower(東京タワー)", "Nippon Budokan(日本武道館)", "Tokyo Midtown((東京ミッドタウン)", "Shin Marunouchi Building(新丸の内ビルディング)" which are the symbols of Tokyo. In addition, not only in Tokyo but in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka, they vuilt a number of landmark buildings including Japan's tallest building "Abeno Harukas(あべのハルカス)" and several dome-shaped stadiums in Japan.
