「Daido Life Insurance」, the core company of「T & D Holdings」handles life insurance based on the policy of "steady management for customers". In fact, while many life insurance companies target the individual consumer segment,「Daido Life Insurance」conducts sales activities that are specialized for the owners of small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition this company also provide customized products for them. Basically, this business accounts for over 90% of total sales.
「T&D Financial Life Insurance」is a life insurance sales company that mainly focuses on financial institutions and in-store insurance. It went bankrupt once in 2001. At that time, thanks to the financial support from「T&D Group」 they were able to rebuild and now it become the main life insurance company for T&D Group. Besides,「Taiyo Life Insurance」 has a long history of more than 120 years, and they are building a business model in which sales employees directly visit their homes.
One of the special features is, they are the first Japanese insurance comany which handles pet insurance by their subsidiary,「Pet & Family Insurance Co., Ltd.」. Ryosuke Nogawa, who retired from a major non-life insurance company in the past, founded「Japan Pet Owners Club」to develop insurance for pets. Since 1995, they have started selling pet insurance.
They received a large number of inquiries from the Financial Services Agency and the Finance Bureau, especially from 2003, they deicided to registrate as a small amount short-term insurance company. In November 2006 as a result of promoting the conversion,「Japan Pet Owners Club」 became a non-life insurance company. This is the birth of Japan's first pet insurance company. In January 2007, two months after the completion of registration, the company received the investment from「T & D Holdings」and became a member of it.
