「Toho Zinc Co., Ltd. (東邦亜鉛)」is a Japanese non-ferrous metal manufacturing company that mainly handles refining of zinc, lead and silver. Zinc, which is a item handled by「Toho Zinc」, is a non-ferrous metal essential for industry. Chemical products such as zinc oxide produced from zinc and they are used as raw materials for rubber, fiber, and battery materials, and again those are all used in various fields of industry such as automobiles, home appliances, and medicine. As for the zinc production volume, this company has 3rd largest production amount in Japan.

「Toho Zinc」was established in 1937 under the name of「Japan Zinc Smelting Co., Ltd.(日本亜鉛製錬株式会社)」. This company has been providing integrated services from mine development to metal refining. In 1939, they purchased「Japan Zinc Co., Ltd.,(日本亜鉛株式会社)」and changed the company name to the current one. From the 1950s, this company started refining crude lead, smelting electric lead and electrolytic iron business.
Since 1969,「Toho Zinc」have started mining development in Peru and Iran, and since 1990 they have established production and material procurement bases in Hong Kong and Shanghai. At the same time, this company started a nickel-cadmium battery recycling business. Since 2000,「Toho Zinc」has taken over the electrolytic iron business from「Showa Denko K.K.(昭和電工)」, and they are trying to expand it to overseas.
