「Konica Minolta」has been a camera and photographic film manufacturer since its foundation in 1936. However, due to the deterioration of the market environment, they withdraw camera business as of March 2006, by transferring it to「Sony Corporation(ソニー)」. However, by utilizing their four core technologies "materials", "optics", "microfabrication" and "photography" that they have been accumulated in the field of cameras and photographic films, 「Konica Minolta」 are now expanding their business to the various fields such as office products, medical products. 

At present,「Konica Minolta」is operating in 150 countries around the world, and overseas sales account for 80% of this, which is extremely high. In addition, they have a high market share in the A3 color MFP market, about 20% share in Europe, North America and China respectively. Especially the fact that they got high market share in China and India is a great advantage considering the demand of the both country is expected to be increased further.

In the commercial printing field, they are competing with「Canon」and「Ricoh」. However, in terms of scale, 「Konica Minolta」is relatively inferior, so this company decided to focus on some particular products. After the Subprime mortgage crisis, the sales was sharply drop due to the decreases in office equipment demand. To overcome this, they conducted business restructuring and M & A. Now, the sales was somehow recovered but operating profit(5%) is still relatively lower than before(10%).

Except of commercial printing business, almost all businesses of「Konica Minolta」have limitation in growth. And the demand for office-related products, which is the main business of「Konica Minolta」, is expected to be decreased.
